Feb. 15th, 2035 03:06 amIt's a life-long journey
As the leader of a rebel group known as the Crimson Crows, Zephyr has a lot on his shoulders. He acts as the group's emotional pillar and lodestar in times of trouble, and though he looks like a brutish warrior who would sooner rely on his own strength over anything else, he has proven to fall back on decades-worth of tactical know-how and would rather use his wisdom than his fists in conflict. Instead of continuing the cycle of violence and revenge against the Renans, Zephyr envisions a world where both sides can live together despite the bloody history between them and follows a strict code by showing mercy. Though he's cautious he's willing to work with others (including Renans), especially if it helps reach his goals. Unfortunately he also put said goals above his own family, leading to the loss of his son.
Since that particular event he strived to do better regarding other people, possibly to make amends for what he couldn't do for him. Now in [Expaition's world], Zephyr has a chance to really sit down and think about his regrets and, maybe with a little luck, convince other people to not make the same mistakes he did. He truly loves his friends and family despite his actions, and they were one of his biggest reasons for fighting; to give them a chance at a better life.

appearance
Tall and physically imposing, Zephyr fits the definition of a resistance fighter to a T and has myriad scars to back it up. His equipment is made from various pieces of scrap that he'd managed to pull together and make himself, though he could never afford to be too choosy with his appearance. He reinforces his right side moreso than his left with extra padding and he wears a large gauntlet on his right arm. Around his neck he wears a necklace adorned with an old wedding ring and several other keepsakes. His hair is cut short and grey, and he has several notable scars; two large gashes on the left side of his head and ear, a small one on the same cheek, another large one on his left forearm, and atop his left hand like other Dahnans, the spot where a spirit core once sat albeit much more gnarled.
abilities
background
Born and raised in Calaglia — aptly known as the Land of Brimstone and Swirling Ash — Zephyr spent a portion of his youth living as a slave to the Renans, the conqurers of Dahna. At some point in his life he'd found the strength to stand up against them, started to fight back, and eventually freed himself from a life of oppression. Around that time he'd met a man who told him if "[he] takes up this fight, [he'd] have to pay a price." Little did Zephyr know just how right that man would be. Over the years he continued to fight back with his own resistance group called the Crimson Crows well into his thirties during which he had met another resistance fighter like himself and, after a time, married her and had a child that they named Law whose existance they kept a secret from the Renans. While Law's mother remained in Ulzebek to protect Law, Zephyr started to fight twice as hard for the both of them in exchange meaning he'd spent more time on the front lines instead of being at home where he belonged. Eventually, when Law was around ten years old, his wife had fallen sick. In a rare moment of selfishness Zephyr had left her and Law behind in search of medicine (all without telling his son), and upon his return he discovers that she had passed away.
In his grief Zephyr had thrown himself back into the fight more and more until he'd started to neglect his son, even going as far as failing to turn up for her funeral. This drives Law into running away and Zephyr, unknowing if he was alive or dead, leaves a letter meant for him should he ever return. Years pass and another Lord enters Calaglia; Balseph.
Sometime after Balseph arrived in Calaglia, Zephyr and the Crimson Crows discover Shionne inside of a train they derail within the wastes. Not long after he also encounters Alphen and after escaping a Renan attack at one of their hideouts, he brings the pair back to Ulzebek with him. With their help Zephyr concocts a plan to take Balseph down for good; the Crows distract his forces, while Shionne and Alphen sneak in and take him out. Shockingly, this plan works and Calaglia is the first of the five Dahnan realms to be freed of Renan rule. This of course attracts the attention of other resistance groups, and a member of the Silver Swords (Rinwell) appears to ask for their help. To do what he can to help the rest of Dahna, Zephyr travels with the three of them to Cyslodia. Upon their arrival in a small village they stumble across a group of Renans and with them, Zephyr's long-lost son, Law. Refusing to fight his own son, Zephyr allows himself to be captured and taken prisoner to Cysloden.
